EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) data is metadata embedded in every digital photo. It includes GPS coordinates, date and time taken, camera model, lens, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and more. This data is written automatically by your camera or phone when you take a photo.

How do I change a photo's location?

Open any photo in Viallo, then open the metadata editor. Click the map picker to set a new GPS location — you can search for an address, drag the pin, or click anywhere on the map. The new coordinates are saved to the photo's EXIF data instantly.

Can I edit metadata on multiple photos at once?

Yes. Select multiple photos in your album, then open the batch metadata editor. You can set the same location, date, or other metadata across all selected photos at once. Batch editing is available on Pro plans.

Does Viallo strip my metadata?

No. Unlike most photo platforms that strip EXIF data on upload, Viallo preserves all your original metadata. You have full control to view, edit, or remove any metadata field yourself.

What metadata can I edit?

Currently you can edit GPS location (latitude and longitude) and date/time taken. More editable fields are coming soon, including camera info, descriptions, and custom tags.
